Carolling Is About Tradition And Community Building

This year’s Honey Gables community Christmas caroling in support of the food bank was a phenomenal success. It was my first year singing, and I was surprised to discover how many people appreciated it. Most residents were receptive and welcomed us with food and drinks.

Another neighbor rewarded our singing with a shot of fine Scotch Whiskey for the adults, of course.  In addition, the group collected many cans and boxes of food for the neighbourhood food bank.

Once we finished strolling, our neighbours Heather and Paul Gulyas set up a blazing bonfire in their front yard, and the community members served hot cocoa and snacks.  We want to thank or the Event Coordinator Carla Celli for another job well done including the children’s crafts, Tonie for pictures, Heather and Paul for the use of their yard and the fabulous mulled wine

Building community spirit helps build pride among residents. With that pride comes a greater sense of wellbeing in your neighbourhood. I feel proud to be a part of this small community.

Merry Christmas,

Frank Branker – Honey Gables Webmaster
