Oldest Resident in Honey Gables, Mabs Reed, Passed Away.

The oldest resident, Mabs Reed, passed away on Friday, 20 November, in her 100th year.

After a brief illness, Wilhelmina Clara “Mabs” Reed passed away peacefully at home, with her daughter at her side, Friday, November 20, 2020.

Cherished wife of the late Lt. Col. McNab Kerr Reed CD. Much loved mother of Henry Kerr Reed (Gail), Ladysmith, BC, Helena Margaret Clute (late Gerald), High River, AB, and Dr. Alan McNab Reed, Nanaimo, BC. Oma to Meips (Derek), Kristina (Marcus), Tosh (Heather), Marli, Linnaea (Matt), and Jakob. Great-grandmother to Cameron, Freya, Jackson and Oaklin. Born in Rotterdam, Holland, May 19, 1921, to Helena and Hendrick Hagenberg.

Mother lived a long, full life. She enjoyed her home and friends in the Manotick area, and looked forward each week to her “Cultured Pearls” knitting group. Thanks to the wonderful care of Dr. Bright and the Palliative Care team, mother was able to spend her last days in her own home, surrounded by loving care. We shall miss her dearly.
When conditions are better, the family will gather on the West Coast to celebrate our wonderful mother. Condolences and Sharing Memories at
