2019-BBQ and General Meeting

Honey Gables Community BBQ and Annual General Meeting at the park 2019.

Please Join us at our next event:  Honey Gables community BBQ and Annual General Meeting at the park. Please note that meat, buns, condiments are provides by the HGCA. Please bring your plates, cutlery, chairs, and drinks as well as a dessert/salad or appetizer to share. This is a kid-friendly event so everyone is invited. We will be also looking for a few new volunteers to join our committee.

The date is Friday, 21 June at 5:00 pm.  We will be providing hamburgers, hot dogs, and pop. You are encouraged to bring a salad or dessert to share.  If you prefer to drink something other than soda, they feel free to BYOB.

The Honey Gables community is one of the most desirable and safe neighborhoods for families. It did not just happen by chance. Created in 1957, the HGDA has been in existence for over 60 years. Longtime residents of this community have volunteered countless hours to help to keep this community family-friendly and a safe place to raise our families.  We would like to keep that tradition alive and hope some of the new residents will step up and join the committee in one of the open positions.

If you value the neighborhood in which you live and the importance of a sense of community, we hope you will consider becoming involved. The HGDA is a listed community organization within the City of Ottawa. Consider this: without your neighbors actively work to make this community a better place, volunteering their time, recruiting others to put initiatives in place, organizing activities or raise awareness about important issues, very little would get done, and we will have no representation on matters concerning us.

Building community spirit helps build pride among residents.  With that pride comes a greater feeling of well-being for all residents. So, please come out and show your support by attending the community BBQ and AGM.

We understand that most of us have demanding schedules and don’t have the time to volunteer, That’s ok. Please come out and show your support to the volunteer community, let them know you appreciate their efforts and your support will help build community spirit.
